Many betrayalsLots of action。 Gray man almost impossible to stop。 Felt bad for the Sierra team。 They don’t have a clue as to what is really going o n。

Overwritten and overwrought, yet I read it to the end。 What does that say about me?

I would like to see what The Gray Man is capable of when he isn’t poisoned or wounded。 I have learned a lot from reading Mark Greaney,s books, and it’s quite unsettling。 I am cancelling my travel plans to Africa and the Middle East and Russia and Manitoba。

Carrie

Lots of action。 But enough is enough give the guy a rest。

Another solid book in the series。 I like the twists and turns in this one even more than the first。 Ending leaves a lot unanswered, which is expected in order to encourage readers to follow along with next book。

Kate

It was okay and that was all I needed from a book today。

Court Gentry (The Gray Man) is a paid assassin with an uncanny knack for biting the hand that feeds him。 A former CIA operative, he is now on their kill list for reasons he does not know。He's reduced to working for a shady Russian mobster and has picked up a drug habit as a result of the wounds he suffered in “The Gray Man”。When he is given a contract to kill the president of Sudan he is immediately approached by his former CIA squad leader - if he captures, not kills, the president he will be a Court Gentry (The Gray Man) is a paid assassin with an uncanny knack for biting the hand that feeds him。 A former CIA operative, he is now on their kill list for reasons he does not know。He's reduced to working for a shady Russian mobster and has picked up a drug habit as a result of the wounds he suffered in “The Gray Man”。When he is given a contract to kill the president of Sudan he is immediately approached by his former CIA squad leader - if he captures, not kills, the president he will be allowed to live his life without fear of the CIA。Of course it does not run smoothly and Court finds himself fighting his way across Sudan in order to meet his deadline。“On Target” is a solid action thriller but is not quite as good as the first book in the series, largely because we know so little about Court Gentry。 There is an attempt made by the sole woman in the book, Ellen Walsh, to get him to open up, but it peters out。 。。。more

Set largely in the Sudan, first book I can remember reading set there。 Court is hired by Russian gangsters to take out the reprehensible dictator responsible for genocide in Darfur。 The CIA (and his long lost buddies on the wet-team from before the series begins) then modifies the job to "kidnap" instead of "assassinate"。 The job goes south, and Court and his team fight their way through an urban setting and kinetic action very reminiscent of "Black Hawk Down" as they try to ex-fil with the capt Set largely in the Sudan, first book I can remember reading set there。 Court is hired by Russian gangsters to take out the reprehensible dictator responsible for genocide in Darfur。 The CIA (and his long lost buddies on the wet-team from before the series begins) then modifies the job to "kidnap" instead of "assassinate"。 The job goes south, and Court and his team fight their way through an urban setting and kinetic action very reminiscent of "Black Hawk Down" as they try to ex-fil with the captured strongman。 Shifting loyalties and circumstances leave Court on his own trying to get out of country so the bad guy can face war criminal charges in the Hague。 It all continues to go to h(*& and Court barely makes it out alive after his former boss and team leader on this job turn against him。 。。。more

Good book - plenty of action。 I rate it 4。8 stars。

Much better than the first Gray Man。 He was still able to overcome insurmountable odds, but it was a little more in line with what is believable。 Still a little randomness。 Like。。。 why being shot with an arrow。 Seemed completely off。 I did like how there was still reference to his backstory and the unknown that it involves。 Seems to hint towards a revelation at some point。 Overall, not too bad。。。 I'll keep reading! DNF。 I loved the Gray Man and Back Blast but this one kind of sucked。 Who wants a junky hero? And it sounded more like Keystone cops than anything else。 Gentry’s character was weak and unreliable。 Meh。

Question: Does anyone know of a transmission with a clutch that when you stop the vehicle so equipped you put it in PARK? Court drives such a vehicle。 And then there is the time when a Sudanese navel vessel is called a yacht。These are two mistakes by the author that the editor didn't catch。 And no, neither take anything away from a rip roaring, slam bam adventure yarn。 I just enjoy finding little mistakes like that。I read my first Gray Man novel shortly before I got sick。 (I just noted that I ne Question: Does anyone know of a transmission with a clutch that when you stop the vehicle so equipped you put it in PARK? I think more along the lines of 3。5 stars。 I liked the beginning of the book。 Then I was totally diverted in another direction。 Okey dokey, the action was good。 Characters were given personalities。 I thought the ending was kind of sloppy。 I am unclear on whether I like Court or not。

A plot to kidnap the president of Sudan goes horribly wrong and ex-CIA operative Court Gentry (The Gray Man) is continuously outnumbered as he tries to get out alive。A fun read。

William Crosby

There was too much stuff that was not about the Gray Man; I suppose that gives context as it delves into the murky world of politics and perceptions and how those can affect a mission。 None of the characters are very nice; they all seem to like being insulting。

Mike

Lots of action! Great characters and story! Will definitely read more books by Mark Greaney!!!!

It was good to get more detail on the Gray Man and his history with the CIA and what made him the man he currently is。 Kind of expected the ending where he was still hunted by the CIA as otherwise the books would not be the same。 Interesting to see an African terrorist slant。 So a reasonable book, but nowhere near as good as book #01。 However, there was enough to make me move to the next book in the series。

Well, wow ! The plot is a whole lot of criss cross ! Because we are way past the double cross stage ! Got it ? Whatever。 So the plot continues。 After being perilously hurt dodging the assassins in the last book, Six has an easy way to get off the CIA hit list ! He just has to kidnap a world leader and hand him over to the CIA ! Easy for the Gray man, you think ? Well, I thought so too。 But, what if he has already been contacted to kill the same person, through a private contractor。 A Russian SOB Well, wow ! The plot is a whole lot of criss cross ! Once Six is no more in crosshairs with the CIA, he can handle the boss。 Right ? But what if the CIA is planning the kidnapping with bad intentions and that might damage the world politics and peace ? This puzzle would have been easily solved by any other assassin。 Follow orders, just do the god damned job and be done with it !!!! Yeah, but not Six ! He needs to be sure that the man has earned his death。 The plot was decent。 The action scenes were unbelievable and in a good way。 I liked the temporary reconciliation of the Sierra Team。 I liked Zack Hightower。 And damn it, Six really wants to do good, doesn't he ? Even at the cost of his freedom。 Maybe even death。 Behind enemy lines in every sense of the phrase! The end was disappointing for both me and Six。 After all his efforts, CIA still got away with it。 And now he has pissed the agency beyond reconciliation, though it matters not to him。 On to next one。。 。。。more

This is the second in "The Gray Man" series, and I thought it was as good as the first。 It is really difficult to say that you enjoyed, and was entertained, by a subject that deals with as difficult a subject as this one。 The South Sudan has had unrelenting difficulties for a few years now, and this is where this is set。 I read books to lose myself in a story and characters, and get wound up in what is going on; but so many of them deal with the real tragedies of the world, and this is one of th This is the second in "The Gray Man" series, and I thought it was as good as the first。 It is really difficult to say that you enjoyed, and was entertained, by a subject that deals with as difficult a subject as this one。 The South Sudan has had unrelenting difficulties for a few years now, and this is where this is set。 I read books to lose myself in a story and characters, and get wound up in what is going on; but so many of them deal with the real tragedies of the world, and this is one of them。 Greaney does an excellent job of drawing you into the story, and hoping that the Gray Man can find a way out of the situation that he is in; and find some peace of mind。 If you read this book, and you should if you like this genre, be prepared for a wild ride。 。。。more

This book was actually very annoying。 The gray man is not gray , he’s fluorescent。 Not only does he agree to do two opposing jobs at once, then gets sidetracked saving an idiotic peacekeeper who he put in danger in the first place。 I put the book down at that point and almost didn’t go back。 Eventually I did and the story got interesting enough to move me from 2 stars to 3。 My favorite part of the book is where a kid puts a poisoned arrow in the gray mans back using a traditional Turkish bow。 I This book was actually very annoying。 The gray man is not gray , he’s fluorescent。 Not only does he agree to do two opposing jobs at once, then gets sidetracked saving an idiotic peacekeeper who he put in danger in the first place。 I put the book down at that point and almost didn’t go back。 Eventually I did and the story got interesting enough to move me from 2 stars to 3。 My favorite part of the book is where a kid puts a poisoned arrow in the gray mans back using a traditional Turkish bow。 I shoot a bow like that and it’s comforting to know that I have the capability to take out the worlds most dangerous assassin ! 。。。more

Courtland Gentry ‘AKA the Gray Man’ is an idiot。 Fast paced story, but I was not impressed。 Court is not very good at following orders。 In real life he would be dead。 But this is just a book and the author can make him a superman and do unbelievable things。

Kyle Howard

Court does it again。 Can’t wait for the next book。

Loved this book。 Gray Man as a character was perfectly written and described as the first book。Action sequences, chase scenes, etc were brilliant as always。 Main problem in this book for me was the twist at the end。 They had a chance to make it more complex so that Gray Man's choice would've been seen as worth the effort。 But loved the book。 Gonna read next one ASAP。 Loved this book。 Gray Man as a character was perfectly written and described as the first book。Action sequences, chase scenes, etc were brilliant as always。 Main problem in this book for me was the twist at the end。 They had a chance to make it more complex so that Gray Man's choice would've been seen as worth the effort。 But loved the book。 Gonna read next one ASAP。 。。。more
